Title: Director – Girl Icon Program

1. WHAT ARE YOU MOST PASSIONATE ABOUT?

I am passionate about youth development. I see a lot of potential, determination and passion in the youth who come from communities with limited or no access to resources and opportunities. There is a need to introduce them to right information, resources and opportunities. Besides that, I am passionate about the welfare of street dogs.

2. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU AREN'T WORKING OR VOLUNTEERING?

I’m a foodie. So, when I’m not working, you’ll find me in my kitchen cooking or baking, and somewhere in some restaurant or local market trying out every food possible! I am also in love with sleep; I usually wake up late on weekends or holidays. Yes, don’t judge me!

3. WHO IS YOUR ROLE MODEL AND WHY?

Every woman and girl I meet through my work has always inspired me: they motivate me to do good, to be better. They teach me the value of my very existence. They are honest, hardworking and they never give up. They teach me to never back down. Most importantly, they show me how to trust and to dream. Every day is a challenge for them; they are fighting their battles without any complaints and yet they are positive about life. They truly are my inspiration and role models.

4. WHAT'S SOMETHING YOU'RE REALLY GOOD AT?

I’ve been told by my husband that I’m empathetic. On reflection, I think I am. I wouldn’t say I excel at it, but I work on it. Being empathetic helps me understand others. It just gives a whole new perspective to your work, to life; it helps me be a better person.

5. IS THERE ANYTHING YOU HOPE TO LEARN IN THE FUTURE? (LIKE A NEW LANGUAGE, INSTRUMENT, OR SKILL?)

Oh, yes! I want to learn French. I’ve completed my Beginner Level 4 but I haven’t had time to continue because of my schedule. I’m also a keen amateur photographer. I would like to work towards being a competent photographer and learn Photoshop.
