Checking In With Project Music

Last year, funds raised at the PaperSeed Charity Golf Tournament helped fund new instruments for Project Music, a program in Stamford, CT that provides free music education. We recently received an update from Project Music about one student in particular whose musical education improved thanks to his brand new clarinet:

Among many lucky students this year, Adriel received a new clarinet as a result of funding from the PaperSeed Foundation. Adriel has been a student with PROJECT MUSIC since the program’s inception in September of 2014, settling on the clarinet as his instrument of choice about six months later. He originally used an old used clarinet that had been donated to the program, but his rapid skill development was outpacing the capacity of the instrument. The new Yamaha Advantage instrument has allowed him to progress unhindered through his third year.

In addition to daily classes and rehearsals, Adriel was able to participate in many performances and special events this year, including a three-day residency at the King School. This summer, he will travel to northern Michigan for nine days to take advantage of a scholarship to the Archipelago Project Music Camp, and he is anxiously awaiting results from an audition he recently played to join the Greater Bridgeport Youth Orchestras.
